Monterey is definitely at the top of my list for favorite locations for weddings. The weather is calm and cool - and so are the people. Belen and Steven put on a fantastic wedding from beginning to end at The Memory Garden. Their family and friends were out on the dance floor until the bitter end! Thank you Belen and Steven for having Amy and I as part of your big day.
The couple got ready at The Portola Hotel. I always love shooting here, the light, the location, the sea air through the blinds... I can't get enough! Not to mention the beautiful elevators!
Wedding season is in full swing! I'm back from a whirlwind trip to Monterey Bay California for Belen and Steven's wedding at the Memory Garden, one of my absolute favorite venues. I love walking to the waterfront and having the beautiful colors of the boardwalk and the bay as the backdrop. Tons more to share - but I just love this one, taken right before sunset.
It was a gorgeous afternoon in the vineyard! I love when couples choose locations that are meaningful to them. TeSóAria Vineyard is a special place for them, as they are members and fans of their wine. It was a beautiful day, and I loved the wine tasting between outfit charges! Thanks to the great folks at Tesoaria for making us feel so welcome!
It's time for another Wedding season on the Oregon Coast! We got off to an early start this year, with two weddings in May to kick off the year. The weather has been crazy dry, windy and beautiful this year - I hope it holds out!
The ceremony was held at the Coos Bay Seventh Day Adventist Church. The color palatte was red and Gold, and I think it fir the surroundings perfectly. The Perfect Occasion took care of every last detail. It was great to have a wedding planner on site to arrange all the details and make sure that the day went smoothly - because I attend SO many weddings, I often fill that gap, but it was great to be able to leave that to a real professional!
I love being a part of the getting ready process. The excitment in the room is palpable. Sarah's mom and friends were so happy and enthusiastic - it was hard not to have a huge smile on your face the whole time!
And I never forget the groom - he's getting married too you know!! <<<< Says the mother of a boy.... :)
The ceremony was perfect and solomn as it should be, but that doesn't mean you can't have some laughs and a big suprise at the end!
Can you say Rose Petal Canons?!! It's hard to tell this small - but right as they were announced as husband and wife - an air canon on either side of the alter went off and showered them with rose petals. It. Was. Awesome.
The reception was held just up the road at Sarah's parent's house on the lake in Lakeside.
The weather on the coast can never be predicted 100% of course, so having the tents from Big Tents Rents & Events was a great idea. Sheided from the sun in the afternoon, and the fog layer that rolled in that evening, it was a wonderful setting for the elegant decor underneith.
There was not one, but TWO beautiful cakes from by Sweet Life Patisserie in Eugene! One that went along with the elegant theme for the day, and one that was fun and represented the video games they love to play together.
Timberwolf kept everyone on the dance floor, and even got all the bridesmaids to step up and take the lead!
The fog held off long enough for us to get some great shots in front of the lake. It was truly a fantastic event from beginning to end. Thank you Sarah and Dillon for inviting me out to capture the day for you.
Another first for me - a wedding on a boat! (And don't think I didn't have the song "On a Boat" by The Lonely Island on my brain the whole time. And um, if you look up that song - know that it's NSFW.... LOL)
We started out the evening before at Thirst Wine bar & Bistro on the waterfront. Yummy drinks and food into the wee hours :)
The next evening I joined Ann and her friends and family at the Portland Marriot Downtown Waterfront hotel. The view was spectacular!
Ann and all of her beautiful kids:
I had never been on a Portland Spirit cruise, and let me tell you - it was SO nice! We cruised up and down the rive, and since it was March it was dark pretty early, letting us enjoy the downtown lights and the bridges as part of our continually changing scenery.
One of my very favorite "non-people" photos ever! I actually have this hanging up big in my living room! :)
Ann's dad wasn't able to make it - but the because of the wonders of technology her was able to say hi to everyone there from her iPhone!
Such a wonderful weekend full of beautiful and wonderful people. Thank you so much for allowing me to take part. <3
