Bandon Dunes Golf Photography - Pacific Dunes

One of the types of shoots I am often asked to do is photograph golfers at Bandon Dunes. I love a great day outside, walking the (6 MILE!) course and getting to know a group of guys who consider Bandon Dunes Golf Course to be their Golfing Mecca.

There are a lot of reasons people hire me to shoot their round. For most it's a once in a lifetime trip.  Bandon Dunes is world renowned, and it's no easy task to get here!  From the East Coast it's easier to get to Scotland than Bandon! :) But once you arrive this place pulls you in and wins you over. Many of these golfers do travel the world for the sport. Playing rounds from Scotland to Pebble Beach to Bandon, and never actually take any photos of their round!  It's a lot to think about, the courses are tough and require a lot of concentration, photos take a back seat to a low score. I take the job of documenting their adventure seriously. I take photos of the tee shots, the putt planning, the reactions to the thrill of victory as well as the agony of defeat. Details like the yardage markers, bags set up over the sweeping vistas, and their drinks of choice for the round. I love the walk and the camaraderie, it's truly a special event for me as well.

 

This group of guys was from Chicago, North Dakota and Indiana and had the round of their lives. It was a pleasure to be a part of it!  With 18 holes, 12 golfers and two photographers, this is but a very tiny taste of the images we captured!  You can check out a few more >>>HERE<<<

Playing Catch up!

OK - its been a long month!  Four weddings (one of them over 600 miles away), a week long workshop that I not only taught at but also compiled and printed the 80 page report for each of the 60 attendees, and started working for the Habitat for Humanity - in my voluminous spare time! LOL

 

So I will have quite a few posts coming up including last weeks adventure in Eugene, Tiffany and Nick's fabulous wedding in Cottage Grove, and an engagement shoot scheduled for tomorrow!  So keep an eye out!

First up - last weekend in Salem!  My brother-in-law Tay Hunt was a professional skateboarder back in the day.  Proving that he can still shred - he competed at The State Games of Oregon skateboard competition and got 1st place in one event and 2nd in another!  The event was held on the Derby Hill in Bush's Pasture Park.

I am playing around with the processing on these - stuff like this doesn't usually work for girls in beautiful white dresses! :)
