This wedding was full of firsts for me! First time shooting at the beautiful Bridal Veil Lakes, first time shooting a wedding on a Wednesday, and I *thought* it was going to be my first time shooting in the rain! I showed up about 30 minutes early and sat in my car as the rain came down, thinking about protecting my gear, cursing myself for taking the umbrella out of my trunk, (what was I thinking? I live in Oregon!) - that sort of thing. And then, as soon as it came time to walk up the steps and join the girls in the room getting ready - it stopped. Just like that. Randi didn't even know it was raining!
I was a little in love with Randi's sister Tracy's shoes. I love red high heel shoes - in any situation really - but all of the bridesmaids had great dresses and awesome shoes!
Randi and Jake opted for the First Look - its such an awesome time! I love to see the grooms expression when he sees his beautiful bride for the first time...
Stealing a kiss while everyone finished getting ready.
Tracy was so cute! "Where should I stand? Right here? Ok!"
I love this sign!! I knew I loved it when I first saw it, and then when I was making up the pics for the blog I noticed its the same font as my logo! No wonder I loved it so much :)
After the group shots - Randi, Jake and I took a walk around the lake before the guests started arriving.
Then it was time for the ceremony - the girls walked around the far side of the lake while the guests filtered in.
Married!!
What a cool way to arrive at your reception! As they pulled up everyone was singing "Kiss the girl" from the Little Mermaid - it was so cute!
The speeches were so heartfelt and sweet... Tracy said she had started writing her speech a year ago - saying that (I hope I am quoting this correctly!) Jake was the brother she never knew she always wanted. HOW CUTE IS THAT? Randi's dad was such a proud guy all day,
Huge thanks to Brandon Schmidt for second shooting for me - he is amazing! Check out his blog - I am sure he will post some of his favorite shots soon!
Thanks so much to you both! I had such a great time - your friends and family made me feel so comfortable and welcome - even getting me out on the dance floor for a brief moment! (Really, I dance about as well as I sing...both things I refrain from doing outside of the confines of my car! lol)
